Microsoft, which has been making investments in artificial intelligence in recent times, continues to expand its investments to Europe as well. The company, which recently announced its plans to establish an artificial intelligence infrastructure in Germany, has decided to do something similar in Spain as well. According to a post by Microsoft President Brad Smith on the X platform, the project is aimed to be completed within the next 2 years. Here are the details…
Microsoft is ambitious in the field of artificial intelligence
Smith stated that Microsoft has been actively operating in Spain for over 37 years and they hope to further develop their collaborations with the country in the future. Highlighting that they have a deep relationship with the Spanish people not only on a trade-centered basis but also socially and culturally, Smith said they will continue their significant investments in the European region.
It was announced that the total expenditure Microsoft will make for artificial intelligence infrastructure and data centers in the next 2 years will exceed $2.1 billion. Additionally, President Smith noted that with the massive development of artificial intelligence technologies, there is a noticeable increase in demand for information technologies in Europe, and to meet this growing demand, they need to expand their production lines.
With this initiative by Microsoft, a significant increase in artificial intelligence efficiency in the European region is expected. It is also rumored that Amazon is aiming to accelerate its investments in the region in a similar manner. However, it remains a question how much benefit all these expenditures will ultimately provide to us users.
